We’re excited to share our Inclusive Design Strategy, a practical framework for creating accessible, people-centred transport and public spaces.
Inclusive design goes beyond meeting minimum accessibility standards, it’s about creating environments that are usable, intuitive and dignified for everyone. When we consider access needs from the beginning of a project, we design out barriers and ensure that the built environment supports all users.
The strategy highlights real challenges faced by people with disabilities and provides guidance on embedding accessibility at every stage of a project, from design through to delivery.
It is now being used as a resource in our technical masterclasses, workshops tailored for built environment professionals, co-delivered with people with lived experience of disability. By sharing this resource and supporting training for built environment professionals, we hope to spark meaningful change in how we think about, design and implement the spaces and systems around us.
