Call-Out to Shape the Future of Accessible Dublin Bus Travel!

Dublin Bus has just launched DBI – Dublin Bus Innovation, a new seed funding challenge inviting bold, practical ideas to improve the customer experience across the network. The initiative is backed by €60,000 in funding, split into four €15,000 innovation challenge streams and is open to employees, stakeholders, and members of the public who have creative solutions to real transport challenges.

The four challenge themes are:

  • Data & Visualisation
  • Optimisation
  • Collaboration
  • Smart Cities (with opportunities to rethink how buses work, how journeys are experienced, and how data can be used to improve services).

Selected ideas will receive seed funding, support from an expert innovation team, and resources to bring concepts from idea to implementation

We’re calling on our Access Ambassadors to submit proposals that help make Dublin Bus services even more inclusive for all customers, especially people with mobility challenges, sensory or learning needs.

Think about solutions that could:

  • Improve on-bus accessibility features
  • Enhance wayfinding or real-time information for passengers with sensory needs
  • Reimagine how data can highlight and reduce accessibility barriers
  • Use smart tech or collaborations to make journeys smoother and more dignified for everyone

Whether it’s a small tweak or a big idea, if it can improve accessibility, we want to help bring it to life.

Submit your ideas through the Dublin Bus Innovation portal for the next 12 weeks at  Dublin Bus - Information about Dublin Bus

Let’s lead the way in making public transport more accessible for all.
